Russ' ebay UK obsession!!

If you know Russ, you know that he is an ebay UK addict! It was a BIG problem in our old house because there just wasn't enough room in his office for all of his swords and military uniforms. Now he has a nice big office so he has brought all of his "stuff" back from his mom's house (where he was keeping it all during the move.) Last night he couldn't have been more excited to show off his newest purchase. I almost DIED!!! He has really gone too far now!
Here is a picture of his office and all of the boxes of "stuff." Can you see all of the swords along the fireplace? How about the gross tiger over the mantle? Well if you think that is bad, just scroll down to see his big (HUGE) new addition to his collection.

Yes this lion WAS real at one time (about 50 years ago.) It is stuffed and looks SOOOO alive! Very very very scary!

Ashton was scared to death when he saw it! The twins didn't seem too scared but I wouldn't let any of them near it. I told them it might have the mange. I know all of you girls are so jealous that your husbands don't have a cool hobby like this!

Rachel said that we should name it so the kids wouldn't be as scared of it. Not sure what I am going to do so that I am not so scared of it! Talk about some nightmares! Can you imagine sleeping in the room next to that!!

I have an idea..instead of the new decor around your formal living room, how about an elephant I saw on ebay africa?!?! What are friends for right!

Love you Les!!!

O.M.G! I would honestly crap myself if Brad got something like that. Is it a real stuffed lion or some kind of replica? I showed it to Ella (home sick today) and she got all wide eyed and asked if you were going to keep it in a cage.
What is that big lion's name on Lion King? You should name it that so your kids can relate to it. I'm scared!

OH MY GOSH!! What in the world?!?! Of all the things that people can find on ebay, I would never have expected THAT!! I think that you should put a blanket over it (ya know, to keep him warm) when your husband is not in the office. When he is, I would request the doors to remain SHUT!! Geez, Lesli, I think you need to put some parental controls on Ebay...ha!

Have a great weekend!

Maybe the lion should come live in the playroom and can be my next door neighbor! :)

Leslie I have to say that the culture Russ has brought in to your home is just awesome. I see a very good taxidermy job a big simba, a few Zulu and Matsi spears and fabulous Tiger from India, all representing the UK's occupation and wars with different tribes and peoples. It if probably very important to him to have an expression of his culture. Tell Russ anytime he wants me to come over and read a little Peter Hathaway Capstick, sip on some Bombay Saphire and enjoy the ambiance of the office I am more than game.

A couple of things are running though my mind right now...
How did it get to the US?
Is it full size???
and finally, why??
Les, I think you get the wife of the year award.

Lesli...seriously....this is INSANE!! I can not believe you have a lion in your house and that it looks SO real! Of course, my husband thought it was so cool and asked if we could get one too--what is it with these crazy guys! You will have to keep us posted on what the kids think of their new pet.

Most of us just opt for a leopard or zebra print rug or some pillows. But the REAL thing??? Maybe it's like the old days when if you were fat it was a sign that you were successful...If you buy the animal instead of its parts...I don't know! I guess Congrats on your success, Russ! Ha! You could always make a rug out of it! :)

Are you kidding me? I don't know if I'm disturbed or mesmorized. It's body looks like a big dog. It looks real. I'm freaked out. I grew up with all of my dad's animals so I'm used to that weirdness, but a full-sized lion??? I don't know what to say.

On another note, I love the color of the walls in his office.

I really want to come see your new house! (minus the new lion...maybe)
